Welcome to my website! It presents an overview of my past and current musical endeavors. Feel free to check out my events calendar, where you can learn about upcoming performances. If you are interested in booking one of my ensembles, please refer to ensemble bookings. I am an active composer, and copies of most of my compositions and CDs are for sale through this site. If you have a band interested in playing new music, please check out my audio and score samples of select pieces. I am also available to teach music to you or your child. You can find more details inside. You may also be interested in my 365 thirds book, augmented scale theory research, and other free lessons. “When I say this guy is AWESOME I mean AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He rocked the house with his smooth tunes coming from the classy yet relaxing sounds of his Sax. He got rave reviews. Everyone said that he was the icing on the cake. Then to see and hear him during the cocktail hour at the reception took the guest by a sweet suprise. Javier I will be calling you again. I have to get a CD. Great job and will Highly recommend. Very professional and flexible. He was great. I don’t kow what else to say.

Javier Arau Performs as Classical Saxophone Soloist with the Bard College Orchestra
Posted on November 24th, 2009 No commentsI performed as a guest with the Bard College Orchestra earlier this month, performing as a classical saxophonist on Leonard Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances.” The concert hall at Bard was phenomenal. It was designed by Frank Gehry, the architect who designed the Guggenheim Bilbao and Disney Hall in Los Angeles. The hall is very small and the acoustics gives the sensation that audience and performer are occupying the exact same space. A wonderful feeling. -Javier
